Early Life and Background
Paolo "PJ" Andreetti was born in Montreal to Italian immigrant parents who settled in Canada in the early 1960s. Growing up as the fourth of five children, Paolo experienced a multicultural upbringing that deeply influenced his values and sense of community.
Education and Early Career
PJ pursued his university education in Montreal and later attended college in Ottawa. His early career included a brief stint in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve and several years working in correctional services. These roles equipped him with a strong foundation in public service and discipline.
Service with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police
In 2005, PJ joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). His service took him across Canada, from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, to the Westmorland and Albert region of New Brunswick. For over a decade, he dedicated himself to protecting and serving the communities of Moncton, Dieppe, and Riverview, before retiring in 2022.
Academic Pursuits and Personal Life
Following his retirement from the RCMP, PJ returned to academia, currently studying political science at the University of Moncton. He is a devoted father to his 14-year-old daughter, whose vibrant presence keeps him active and engaged. PJ also maintains his physical fitness through powerlifting and brisk walking.
Community Connection and Vision
Since moving to New Brunswick in 2009, PJ has developed a deep connection with the greater Moncton area, where his daughter was born. His experiences on the streets of Moncton, receiving gestures of kindness from the community, have reinforced his commitment to public service.
PJ is now seeking to serve the Moncton community in a new capacity as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). He aims to bring the same dedication, discipline, and empathy that characterized his RCMP career to his political role. PJ is committed to listening to the voices of his constituents, understanding their needs, and representing their interests with integrity and diligence.
PJ's candidacy for MLA is driven by a profound respect for the residents of Moncton East and a desire to continue serving its citizens. He asks for the opportunity to prove his commitment and effectiveness over one term, with the promise of seeking a second term only if his constituents are satisfied with his performance.
